The Golden State Warriors looked bouncy during their first preseason games, entering their recent matchup against the Sacramento Kings at Chase Center with a 2-0 record. Following the trend in these preseason showdowns, teams play their starters for just one half of the contest.
This gives their bench and role players some reps in, allowing the coaching staff to figure out their rotations once the regular season begins. The biggest name on the court at Chase Center, Steph Curry, is gearing up for his 16th season in the NBA, playing just around 16 minutes per contest in their preseason games. However, the older statesman exited the game earlier than expected.
Curry put up six points, four assists, and four rebounds before leaving the game with an apparent finger issue. Warriors fans held their breaths and waited for reports regarding the perennial All Star’s condition after missing the entirety of the second half. Fortunately, light at the end of the tunnel appeared when Anthony Slater of The Athletic reported: “Steph Curry jammed his finger late in the first half and left for the locker room.
Didn't return for the second half, but it doesn't sound like an issue. He's back in the weight room currently going through his normal postgame workout routine, per Warriors.” It’s always a nerve-racking sight to see your franchise player go down, but fortunately for the Bay Area, it seems like there’s no major concern regarding Curry’s apparent injury, especially after Slater added further updates postgame, stating on X, "Steph Curry: Right index finger jammed. X-rays negative, per Warriors. Day-to-day."
sCoach Kerr and his Warriors are still undefeated this postseason, boasting a 3-0 record after beating the Kings thanks to a spirited rally in the 4th quarter. They’ll face the Pistons next, but fans can only wait and see if Curry will suit up for that contest. Expect Moses Moody’s production to go up if Curry misses some time in the preseason.
