Kawhi Leonard is always a polarizing discussion point for NBA fans. Some consider him the best to have ever played the small forward role while others think that he sits out too often. However, there is not much information about the Los Angeles Clippers star and his family. This article will answer a part of that by delving deep into the his life alongside his sister.
It can very easily be said that Kawhi Leonard is the best basketball player in his family. This is due to the Defensive Player of the Year, NBA Finals MVPs, and Larry O'Brien trophies that are under his belt. However, he would not have taken up basketball if not for one of his sisters' passion for the sport while he grew up.
Miesha Slayton is Kawhi Leonard's sister. She loved to hoop during her younger years and he along with his brother often played the game together. Eventually, she played varsity for Canyon Springs High School. But, her hoop dreams did not quite materialize after that anymore. Instead, she shifted her focus on trying to help Kawhi and his mother after their father died in 2008.
Miesha and Kawhi still often bond about basketball to this very day. She may have her own family now but that does not mean that her inner hooper could not surface every once in a while. But, a lot of NBA fans should probably thank her because one of the greatest to ever do it would be there without her motivation.
