So much optimism still exists in Zion Williamson's career. He had a stellar rookie year but injuries have prevented him from popping off. Obviously, this will frustrate any NBA star but there could be another reason why the Duke Blue Devils legend is currently disgruntled and it had to do with his agent.
Zion Williamson is currently nursing a hamstring injury. This has prevented the Pelicans star from playing since the first day of November. Understandably, he does not just sit around and do rehab with his time. Instead, the big man is slowly trying to regain his independence in terms of being a basketball player and talent. So, this led him to split up with the Creative Artists' Agency.
Williamson does have a lot of cash due to his deal that is worth $197 million. However, he might have other reasons for splitting up with this company. A large chunk of it has to do with the New York Knicks as well: "He had long made it clear to the agency that he wanted to play in New York. After beginning his career in New Orleans, Williamson expected more from his representation in regards to pursuing a trade to New York. This was one of the two driving factors that resulted in the split."
With this new chapter in the Pelicans star's professional life, it does look like he could be pivoting towards a big career move soon. Will he finally don another jersey come the 2025-26 NBA season?
