Spud Webb’s Vertical Jump

He has an excellent vertical jump record of 46 inches. He was also one of the few talented NBA stars who successfully dunk despite not being able to palm a basketball.
Influence On The Sport
Spud Webb has been well respected in the sport for the talented and inspirational icon he became. He motivated shorter athletes, proving the possibility of greatness in the sport despite his size.
When asked about how it feels to know that he has an NBA record everybody knows, he answered that it was the respect for his contributions.
“Oh, it’s great that you think that. I believe it’s because they respect the way you’ve contributed to the game. I don’t think people approach you like that unless they truly appreciate what you’ve done, your style of play, and your dedication over 12 years,” he shared with HoopsHype via Cyro Asseo de Choch.
While the iconic 1986 NBA Slam Dunk Contest made Spud Webb well-known, he said he wanted to be remembered not just as a dunker, but as a great basketball player. His 12-year NBA Career marked his success in inspiring young athletes to basketball.
