Parents tend to be the most supportive of their child more than anyone else. Brenda Haliburton took that up a notch while Tyrese Haliburton made his way up to the NBA. From his AAU days, getting recruited by the Iowa State Cyclones, and all the way to becoming a star with the Indiana Pacers, she and her wife have always been there for their son. How much of an impact has this made? Let's all uncover that.
It is a known fact that Brenda Haliburton did not miss a single of her son's games when he was growing up. The family valued being present for one another and she stood on that hill. She may have missed some of his games in the NBA and with Iowa State but those have only happened a handful of times.
In fact, Brenda was even devastated when she missed his game for the first time in her life. Tyrese Haliburton unveiled how she felt: “The Texas Tech game, the plane wouldn’t take off because of the weather. That was the first game she ever missed. She was super bummed out. I was like, ‘Mom, it’s OK.’ She felt really bad about it.”
She also went through a lot of lengths just to make it to his games: “There have been nights when we played in Milwaukee, so she would go and work and leave with me with a teammate or coach for a night, but make it to the game the next day, whether it was the afternoon or night.”
All of that positive reinforcement has paid off. Haliburton has risen up to star status with his Pacers and even earning a medal with Team USA during the 2024 Paris Olympics.
