Every NBA Draft class seems to have someone who's dubbed as the second coming of LeBron James. This all looked possible and real when Ben Simmons was selected by the Philadelphia 76ers. He resembled The King's game so much that comparisons were starting to make sense. All of this held true until a big blunder in the playoffs disallowed him from reaching his potential. Now, he is with the Brooklyn Net and no longer in NBA All-Star conversations.
There is no question that Ben Simmons could still end up as a versatile forward with the Nets. However, it was just not expected for him to have this large of a drop off after having such an insane four-year run with the 76ers. Despite falling short of expectations due to injuries and mental blocks, he still amassed quite the net worth.
It might be surprising to most but the biggest paycheck of Simmons' career is yet to come. He is set to earn about $40.3 million throughout the 2024-25 NBA season despite being far from his old NBA All-Star ways. More than that, his career earnings have also totaled to a whopping $203.4 million too which is very huge already despite his shortcomings.
Simmons still has a long way to go and he could very well experience a resurgence in the next few years of his career. For now, he still has deals with Nike and Beats By Dre which helped him amass a huge net worth of $80 million. Hopefully, his potential is fulfilled in the coming years as he enters his prime.
