NBA fans find it hard to believe that Thanasis Antetokounmpo has been in the NBA for quite some time despite not having much playing time. Many think that he is just with the Milwaukee Bucks because his brother is Giannis Antetokounmpo. Many fail to consider that he could also have some very invaluable skills which help the team that leads to getting big contracts.
A lot of NBA fans forget that Thanasis Antetokounmpo was not always with the Bucks. He first started out with the New York Knicks. Things did not work out after just one season which led to him joining forces with his brother, Giannis Antetokounmpo. Since then, this older brother has offered sage wisdom and encouragement whenever needed - he was the glue guy for this squad.
As a result, the Bucks would go on to challenge the Boston Celtics and Toronto Raptors over superiority in their conference. In 2021, they finally got over the hump and did not waste any opportunities - an NBA Championship was brought home to Wisconsin. Thanasis may not have played minutes in these crucial games but his effort in keeping his team's heads up were effective.
Throughout that time, he was able to notch total career earnings of $9.1 million. His biggest contract came from the Bucks during the 2022 to 2023 season. He was given about $1.8 million which still remains to be the largest figure on his NBA salary up to date. Many will continue to clown Thanasis but his hefty bank account along with accolades are all enough to dispel the vitriol.
