Loving the Lakers HC: Meet Chelsea Kilgore, JJ Redick's Wife

Forget the fact that a lot of stressors creep in once someone becomes a head honcho in the NBA. This very pressure doubles and maybe even quadruples in size once the franchise that hires you is the Los Angeles Lakers. There is always the expectation that Purple and Gold should be competitive every season which makes the job very hard. Thankfully, JJ Redick has someone by his side to ease all those woes away every time he gets home.
The Lakers have cycled through a lot of coaches since LeBron James and Anthony Davis joined their squad. They may have won a title with Frank Vogel but every other coach after him has not been great. However, there is just something different about JJ Redick - more than his ability to draw up schemes or perfectly understand rotational needs.
It was the fact that the Lakers head coach had a calm and collected head. A lot of this can be attributed to his wife, Chelsea Kilgore. The two met when the sharpshooter was still playing for the Orlando Magic. This happened in 2006 which was just four years before they would get married. At the moment, Kilgore currently works as a fitness and pilates instructor while her husband endures one of the most criticized jobs in the world.
While Redick knows that the Lakers job is tough, he acknowledged that everything that he is doing is for the sake of his family: ”I really care about my family. I really care about my kids. I really care about my wife. And I really care about their happiness. And my wife wants me to be happy. I think that’s the main thing. She knows how much I put into this, and so she wants me to enjoy playing.”
The two have welcomed two children in the world: Knox and Kai. They have been great at raising their kids while also maintaining a nice work-life balance.
