Tyrese Haliburton paid tribute to the late NBA legend Kobe Bryant during the IST against the Milwaukee Bucks at T-Mobile Arena. Haliburton wore a custom Kobe 8, designed in the colorway of the 2007 All-Star game.
In the 2007 All-Star game, Kobe Bryant was named MVP. Through Haliburton, the fans and the league were able to remember Bryant’s tribute to the sport.
In that game, Tyrese Haliburton shone all throughout. He registered a double-double with 27 points and 15 assists. People like to believe that through the energy that the custom tribute shoes manifest, Haliburton was able to play just like how Kobe Bryant would.
In the quarterfinals of IST, Haliburton made his first-ever triple-double. The Pacers may not have been who people expected to power through IST, but there they were.
“We’re not supposed to be here. We keep shocking the world,” Haliburton shared.
