Ja Morant has had controversies sticking to his name for the past few years. As a consequence of his poor decisions, Morant faced a 25-game suspension.
Ultimately, the Memphis Grizzlies endured the fall along with Morant’s actions. Later, the 6-foot-2 guard suffered a shoulder injury. This prolonged his absence from the team, causing a bump on their journey.
Ja Morant’s Return
It seems that Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant is all well. He has been cleared to play basketball again undergoing surgery. In a short tweet, Morant teased his fans in his return to the NBA scene.
During his Hall of Fame induction at Murray State University, Ja Morant expressed his gratitude to his fans and family who never left his side.
“We all went through that situation together, but [you] holding it down and staying by my side means so much to me and my family,” he said. “I appreciate [you all] for coming now, with draft, Summer League, and all. I appreciate [you all], and it shows the love and support [you all] have for me. So, just know it's reciprocated.”
Morant’s Way Back To Prominence
Following his past mistakes and recovery from an injury, Ja Morant seems to be on an uphill road back to prominence.
Though not quite back to his hundred percent, Morant believes his 75% would still be scary to whoever faces him on the court. Last season, even with just nine games registered, Morant had an average of 25.1 points, 8.1 assists, 5.6 rebounds, 1.4 blocks, and 1.4 steals stretched within only 35.3 minutes.
Ja Morant believes that the franchise can win the 2025 championship. The Grizzlies drafted big man Zach Edey, while Marcus Smart was acquired through the 2023 offseason trade. With that, Morant dreams big for the Memphis Grizzlies.
With Ja Morant’s return in the 2025 season, the Memphis Grizzlies will be fighting with additional, and needed, defense and offense into their roster. The 25-year-old has some motivational aura that lifted the team’s spirit, maybe even enough to championship contention.
