Starting for nine completely different teams is a feat in the league that no one has accomplished except for Ryan Fitzpatrick. He was truly an amazing quarterback who coaches could plug in at any type of offense without any worries. Despite him making a lot of moves throughout the country, there was one constant from his time with the St. Louis Rams all the way to when he retired with the Washington Football Team. It was none other than his wife, Liza Barber. How have these two been and are they still married? Let's find the answers.
How did Liza Barber and Ryan Fitzpatrick meet?
Everything started at Harvard. While Fitzpatrick was busy being the signal-caller for the men in crimson, Barber was also balling out as one of the school's top soccer stars. In fact, she even took home All-American Honors throughout her time with the squad.
The two hit it off but it was only Fitzpatrick who got to play his sport professionally after their college careers at Harvard. However, this did not mean that their exit from the university was not life-changing.
Just a year after joining the Rams, the quarterback asked for Barber's hand in marriage. The hilarious part in all of this was that Fitzpatrick proposed in a McDonald's on their way home because he purchased the ring using their joint bank account.
Are they still together?
There relationship has been very healthy so far. Fitzpatrick's decision to call it a career back in 2021 was largely due to wanting to focus on his family life. After all, having seven kids can be quite a chore for two parents and they are going to need each other in helping them grow up.
His love for Barber has been so immense. Even when he was playing in the NFL, Fitzpatrick wore their wedding ring in every single snap that he got fielded in.
“I haven’t seen a reason to take it off, I guess. It stands for something. It’s not like I’m trying to throw a message in anybody’s face. It’s just a personal thing between me and my wife. It’s important for me not to take it off," he declared.
These two already have a really long marriage but something tells a lot of fans that they will be by each other's side for a longer amount of time.
