The Carolina Panthers have not been the same since Cam Newton left the team. This squad has been on the constant state of rebuilding. They got a glimmer of hope when the first overall pick of the 2023 NFL Draft. Bryce Young ended up being their selection but nothing changed in the squad. Dave Canales then went in to take over but the improvements were also not significant. Shannon Sharpe was quick to criticize the team amid their huge losses.
Who did Shannon Sharpe blame the most amid the Panthers' continued stint in the NFL cellar? Well, it was none other than their head coach.
"For a second there I thought it was all about the quarterback. Hey, Coach Canales, what happened with Andy Dalton? Because you had fans and everybody thinking it was Young. That it was Bryce Young. Y'all got a victory and that's all we needed. That's all we needed. There's nothing good to say now," the legendary tight end and renowned analyst said sarcastically.
The Panthers only have three wins throughout the season so far. This means that they are in the bottom of the NFC South and that postseason contention will be out of reach for this squad. Hopefully, Canales finds better schemes and rotations such that the Panthers are able to make a comeback come fall of 2025.
