All there is to know about Lamar Jackson's father

Lamar Jackson is clearly one of the best NFL players of all time. His threat when it comes to passing and rushing will have any team shaking their legs. The journey he took from a high school football standout to a Baltimore Ravens legend was not easy. In the backdrop of all that was his father, Lamar Jackson Sr. Everyone sees his mother in games but let's get to know the person who ignited his love for the gridiron.
It was evident to Lamar Jackson's parents that they had an athletic son at a very early age. So, they supported him in every endeavor that he took. Lamar Jackson Sr. made it a point to teach his son every position that there is on the field. This helped the Ravens quarterback become lethal in rushing, passing, catching, and receiving. He was instrumental to the growth of his child.
However, an unfortunate accident happened when the Ravens quarterback was just eight years old. His father died due to a heart attack. What made this an even worse experience was that his grandmother died on the same day too. It was a tough time at the Jackson household and it clearly broke the young athlete. He even referenced that turning point in his Heisman Trophy speech: “It hurt me. I wanted to cry real bad, but my mom was the real soldier. She told me, ‘Lamar don’t cry,’ and I’ll remember that for the rest of my life.”
Jackson Sr. is survived by a very resilient family. His son has grown up to become arguable the greatest Ravens quarterback that there ever is. He also has a shot to finally get over the hump and win the Super Bowl in the 2025. All of those virtues were acquired because he stood strong amid the face of death and adversity.
