Samantha McAfee was born in Greenwood, Indiana. She graduated from Center Grove High School in 2007 and attended the University of Southern Indiana. Little is known about her childhood, but the Indiana-raised teen honed in on this earlier knowledge and used it to help shape her future animal advocacy efforts.

Career and Advocacy

With a career intimately connected to her passion for animal welfare, Samantha started with eight years of volunteering in veterinary internships. She founded and runs the non-profit Fur The Brand, which is designed to educate people about canine cancer. She first found herself in animal advocacy as a teenager when she volunteered at area animal shelters and took up work part-time at one of her neighborhood pet stores. She is also licensed in grooming, further demonstrating her animal devotion.

Samantha was personally inspired to assist other families experiencing that same fight. On the organization's website, states they can "help both the fur baby and person," recognizing that people form emotional bonds with their animals.

Early Life and Pat McAfee's Relationship

The two have been together since sometime in the mid-2010s, and they got engaged in February 2019 during a romantic trip to Hawaii. A true romantic, Pat had a helicopter land him at the base of a waterfall to propose to Samantha.

They said "I do" on August 1, 2020, at Coxhall Gardens in Carmel, Indiana, as an ode to the love and work they share. On May 4, the pair had their first child, Mackenzie Lynn McAfee. It was a hard road to parenthood for the couple, who were candid about their struggle with infertility and the emotional strain that came from in-vitro fertilization (IVF).
