Bags in New York? How Much Is Tommy DeVito Earning?

The state of New York has long been trying to find a quarterback after Eli Manning left them. They thought that Aaron Rodgers would have been the answer but it was clearly not the case. But, a diamond in the rough started to shine with the New York Giants and his name was Tommy DeVito. This fairly talented signal-caller was great during the times that he was fielded. So, how much has he earned so far?

Tommy DeVito started off as a serviceable quarterback for the Illinois Fighting Illini. He could not get drafted, but the Giants ended up acquiring him during free agency. The Italian player has been with the franchise ever since then. His acumen and marketability have practically made him the face of the current squad after Saquon Barkley left, too. So, it meant quite a bit of endorsement outside of his deal with the franchise.

The Giants have been with DeVito for two years. Throughout that span of time, he was able to take up only 0.2% to 0.4% of the Giants' salary space. This was because he had only earned about $1.65 million in base salary. It is already an ample paycheck for a secondary quarterback in a squad that's finding it hard to jockey for a postseason position.

As of now, DeVito still has a lot of growth to do in the gridiron. Hopefully, he is able to get more playing time with the Giants such that his paycheck grows more substantially. One might even think that whatever he's getting on the field would be less than his actual base salary. Regardless, he has been a great face for the Giants and his help has gotten them a lot of traction in the minds of people which boost ticket and jersey sales.
