How Did They Do? The 2024 NFL Draft's Top RBs

Rushers aren't the first group of talents that come to mind when people talk about the 2024 NFL Draft. A wealth of quarterbacks and defensive menaces were called up first before a running back was. However, this does not mean that there are not any diamonds in the rough in this set of guys. Let's find out who'll go first in case front offices got the benefit of hindsight.
1. Bucky Irving
There were many names placed above this elite route runner out of the Oregon Ducks system. However, the opportunities to shine alongside the starters mixed with his talent made for a stellar rookie season. Bucky Irving was able to help the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with his 1,122 rushing yards and eight rushing touchdowns. Not to mention, he was also able to get 47 total receptions - he also would not be a shabby receiver if ever.
2. Tyrone Tracy Jr.
Purdue has been a factory of great talents that often pop well in the NFL. Tyrone Tracy is the most recent example of this. The New York Giants took a chance on him and he clearly did not disappoint during his first year. He registered 839 rushing yards and five rushing touchdowns on 192 attempts. His ability to not take these opportunities for granted and help his squad inch closer to notch first downs has been invaluable.
3. Ray Davis
Many would not think that a top contender would give a rookie the chance to run their show but the Buffalo Bills are unlike other teams. They propelled Ray Davis to a point where he could be a serviceable rusher to spread the field out for Josh Allen. He produced 442 rushing yards and even got to the end zone thrice in his rookie year. Hopefully, Coach Sean McDermott realizes that he may just have the running back of the future with Davis and allow him to play more snaps.
