Who's QB1? The 2024 NFL Draft Class

A lot of franchises were in dire need of a steady signal-caller after a tough 2023 season. Some needed a cornerstone who they can build on for years to come while others wanted a backup just in case their current star gets in trouble. This is where the 2024 NFL Draft class came in. Were the quarterbacks in this group of talent taken in the right order or will hindsight change how they are viewed compared to nearly a year ago? Let's find out!
1. Jayden Daniels goes to the Bears
It comes as no surprise that this dual-threat quarterback, after his stellar rookie year, will go first in the 2024 NFL Draft. This talent out of the LSU football program was the definition of someone having an immediate impact. Jayden Daniels led the Washington Commanders to the playoffs and pushed this franchise, one that was starved of playoff success for three decades, into the NFC Championship Game.
Above all of that, he was also great in terms of being efficient. Daniels put up 3,568 passing yards on a 69% completion percentage alongside 25 touchdowns. Not to mention, he only threw nine picks which meant that his quarterback rating amounted to 70.5 - this was good for being the fourth-best in the NFL. Would he have the same success in the Windy City?
2. Caleb Williams lands with the Commanders
There is pretty much no debate when it comes to who goes No. 1 and No.2 in this quarterback class. This USC football product still remains one of the top prospects of the 2024 NFL Draft. Caleb Williams may not have had the same success as Jayden Daniels but his numbers are still fairly solid. He put up 3,541 passing yards on a solid completion percentage of 62.5% while also doling out 20 touchdowns. His game needs a little bit more polishing because of his six interceptions, which often come at the wrong time of the game.
The Chicago Bears are still in great hands because of Williams. If he had ended up with the Commanders, they might have had an equal shot at making the postseason. The biggest question would be the depth of their run in the NFL Playoffs. While many people can delve into this hypothetical, many fans still believe that Williams is a great quarterback of the future.
3. Bo Nix ends up as a member of the Patriots
The Denver Broncos might have just solved their quarterback conundrum because of this young talent out of the Oregon Ducks. He proved that the New England Patriots may have made a mistake more than just hiring Jerod Mayo as their head coach. The other misstep they may have madeĀ was passing up on Bo Nix for Drake Maye. This steady hand under center produced 3,775 passing yards on a 66.3% completion percentage. He also led the Broncos to 29 touchdowns.
The big reason why he cannot go any higher would be the potential placed under his name. Nix has a lot of growing to do and the testament to this is his 12 interceptions. If he is able to get that number down while also increasing his yardage per game, this quarterback could very well end up at the top of this list.
