How Buccaneers' Baker Mayfield & his family uplifts their community

A lot of stars in the NFL have developed quite an affinity for the state that they played for. Joe Montana will always be remembered by The Bay as well as Tom Brady for New England. This means that these stars give a lot of effort in giving back to these local communities. Baker Mayfield is following suit in this endeavor despite just spending only over a year with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Buccaneers star's family urges people to help Florida
Hurricane Helene put the whole of the South East in danger. The death toll rose up to more than 130 people because of flash floods, tornadoes, and eroding chunks of land. Damages of the said natural disaster has also reached a devastating total of $110 million and could likely increase once aerial surveys are done.
Baker Mayfield's family was affected by the severe flooding. Despite being one of the victims of the hurricane, they knew that it was still their mission to help those who are in need. This is why Emily Mayfield, his wife, called out for solidarity in this time of adversity.
"I do not have words to accurately describe my heartbreak for everyone affected by Hurricane Helene... Our sweet, sweet community got pummeled, but even that doesn't compare to the people up North who took this storm head-on. It's unfathomable. I'm so thankful to God for protecting us - and our home - and I'm praying nonstop for everyone dealing with the aftermath of the storm, the surge, the damage, the loss. Time to come together and help each other out. I have faith in this community," she wrote.
The Buccaneers along with the other organizations in the NFL often give assistance to those who got affected. Moreover, Baker delivered a smile to their hometown fans as he helped the Buccaneers notch a win over the Philadelphia Eagles after the hurricane struck. It will also come to no one's surprise that this family could also donate because of their affinity to the community.
