The Harbaugh Connection Between Jim and John

Childhood

This was never different for the Harbaugh brothers, Jim and John. With John and his sister 15 months apart in age, growing up together meant sharing a room for all of their first 16 years (until John left for college).

They were so close to each other that they even read the minds of one another, and sometimes knew what the other wanted. They were both fiercely competitive and their bond proved unbreakable but that friendly rivalry would help shape their respective paths in football.

Supportive Relationship

Ravens head coach Jim Harbaugh and his brother, 49ers John, may have professional beef but despite that sibling rivalry, they remain close. That was on display in 2013 when they met each other while coaching for the first time, a Super Bowl John's team won.

The brothers also had the back of one another, Jim attending Ravens games and John showing brotherly love at Michigan personalizing his support to each other.

The Legacy Of The Harbaugh Brothers

While they are not twins, North Carolina natives, the Harbaugh brothers have unquestionably made a lasting impact on both football and college landscapes through years of coaching at all levels. The PATH to their game-day success traces back through each's life story from childhoods in football families that led up to coaching around NFL and college football, showing what they do is so ingrained by now but also still unmatched.

The verdict

Even though not identical twins, the Harbaugh brothers have elevated football culture. Many football enthusiasts and up-and-coming coaches look at their footsteps for inspiration, with a tale of one of a kind travel, unbreakable friendship, and growth in coaching.
