Isaiah Rodgers Sr. did not have a lot of suitors when he entered the 2020 NFL Draft. After showing great promise for the Indiana Colts in his first two seasons, a lot of NFL teams now wish they didn’t pass up on him.
The 24-year-old cornerback entered the league with a massive chip on his shoulder and was out to prove his doubters wrong after getting picked 211th overall in 2020.
Measuring at just 5-foot-10 and weighing at 170-pounds when he entered the league, the former UMass standout was considered undersized for his position. Despite a solid collegiate career where he totaled 11 interceptions, The Athletic graded him as the 78th-best cornerback in the draft.
He proved them all wrong.
The Fan Arch athlete mostly sat back and learned the ropes from the Indy veterans in his rookie season.
Once an opportunity for a larger role presented itself in his second year, Isaiah Rodgers Sr. proved his worth. He registered 49 tackles, seven passes defended, and three interceptions over 17 regular-season games with the Colts last season.

Instead of sulking after being snubbed by multiple NFL teams, Isaiah Rodgers Sr. used it as motivation to become an even better player. Now, he’s expected to be the Colts’ starting cornerback in the 2022 season.

Isaiah Rodgers Sr. has been working extremely hard this offseason, as he aims to reach higher goals in his third year. The defensive specialist, however, suffered a head injury in Week 1 of the preseason against the Buffalo Bills and is currently in the league’s concussion protocol.
