One would think that being an NFL legend would set oneself up for success in their personal life. This is not always the case. Money and fame often does not solve relationship issues and a big example of this is Troy Aikman. The former Dallas Cowboys quarterback has endured a lot of heartbreaks on the field and it seemed to have followed him off it.
Troy Aikman is no longer married. The Cowboys legend had just wen through the process of another divorce. This is the second marriage of his that crashed and burned. His first wife, Rhonda Worthey, lasted along his side for just 11 years after they got married in 2000. This time around, Catherine Mooty, ended their relationship after six years of being involved with one another.
It is not hard to think that Aikman is having a tough time with relationships. There is always a struggle when it comes to keeping with the demands of being part of the media after a playing career and being a present husband. In fact, the Cowboys legend was very deeply affected with his divorce with Mooty.
Aikman went on to declare that his split with the second wife was when he truly felt helpless: “A failure. That was my rock bottom. For me, contentment was always a four-letter word. I never wanted to be content. I didn’t wanna be around anyone who was content. That’s just not a place I could land.”
Now, Aikman is just focused on making himself a better person after experiencing two tough relationships that did not end well. Hopefully, things are not too late for the Cowboys legend and he still eventually finds love for a third time in this lifetime.
