Despite the criticism hurled at Dak Prescott, he will forever be known as someone who's resilient in the eyes of his family. He grew up with two brothers who were older than him. Unfortunately, one of them along with their mother could not see him succeed just and hoist the Lombardi Trophy. What happened to Jace Prescott and why was he so important in the Dallas Cowboys star's life?
To start, Dak Prescott was the youngest in their family. Their family used to live in a Louisiana trailer park because the only source of income they had was Peggy Prescott's salary from being a truck stop cashier. All of these hardships and times of hunger brought them closer together because they often had nothing but themselves at times.
Unfortunately, their family would get shocked when Peggy died of colon cancer in 2013. They got over this tough time too and Dak was off to make a pretty penny in the NFL with the Dallas Cowboys. However, another hurdle came into their lives when Jace committed suicide.
It was at that point where the two brothers made tangible efforts to check up on one another from time to time. The Cowboys quarterback even became an advocate for suicide prevention after getting rocked by this incident. He outlined his feelings on the death of Jace: “I mean, obviously tears and tears and tears. I mean, I sat there and tried to gather what had happened and wanted to ask why for so many reasons and as much as you want to ask why, I know my brother, and he had a lot of burdens on him.”
The Cowboys quarterback has already done enough in this lifetime to make his mother and brother proud. He does not need to worry about the undeserving opinions of most NFL fans.
