Many teams have benefited from the wits of Bill Belichick. Throughout his time in the NFL, he designed many masterful schemes which eventually culminated with the rise of the New England Patriots dynasty. This old head honcho failed to get a coaching offer for the 2024 season. However, it does not seem like he will be out of a job for long because the Dallas Cowboys are looking for someone to lead them into greener pastures.
The Cowboys have only won three games entering Week 11. They can still turn their season around and make a bid for the postseason but doing so would be very difficult. Now, they also don't have Dak Prescott for what could be the whole season. Things are looking bad under Mike McCarthy's system and Jerry Jones might not have anymore patience. So, who could be at the top of the list to snag this head coaching spot?
Well, renowned NFL Insider Adam Schefter had a big answer for this: "Lots of speculation swirling about what the Cowboys will do. People have even thought about Bill Belichick, having been spotted in Dallas last week. It can be confirmed Bill Belichick was in Dallas last week, but it wasn't to meet with the Cowboys. It was for a previously scheduled speaking engagement. Still, that doesn't stop the idea that there are people across the league who continue to believe that Bill Belichick will be one of the top considerations for Jerry Jones after this season."
There is still so much that Coach Belichick can give to the Cowboys system. However, his system with the Patriots after Tom Brady left may have tainted the legacy he once had. Despite this, he remains to be the top coach that's available and could be willing to lead this team into immediate glory.
