Driving under the influence is nothing new for most football players. However, some have tested themselves with alcohol to a point where they have brought a lot of harm to others. Henry Ruggs III had a promising future with the Las Vegas Raiders but it was all thrown away after a very unfortunate incident which resulted into a death.
Henry Ruggs III ended up taking the lives of a 23-year-old woman and her dog while driving at 156 miles per hour. It happened in 2021 and officials have found out that the Raiders wide receiver's blood-alcohol level was twice the legal limit. This prompted them to charge him with a sentence that spanned for 10 years.
The former Raiders weapon did plea guilty to the case which means that he will also undergo parole in 2026. As of the moment, he is currently incarcerated in the Casa Grande Transitional Center after being housed inside the High Desert State Prison in Las Vegas.
He is a community trusty at the moment. The police elaborated on what this chance means for the former Raiders wide receiver: “The main purpose of Casa Grande was, and still is, to allow these ‘residents’ the opportunity to seek work and secure permanent housing prior to reintegrating into society. Since its inception, Casa Grande has expanded its programs to include parolees, probation violators, and ex-offenders.”
