Adjusting one's style of play is often a difficult job. Kareem Hunt is primarily known as a running back from college days all the way to the middle of his years in the NFL. However, his return to the Kansas City Chiefs necessitated him to be receiver and blocker at times too. He thrived in those roles and has gotten nothing but praise from the Patrick Mahomes-led squad.
Kareem Hunt is looking ready to contribute in any way he can such that the Chiefs go on to win a three-peat. As of the moment, Patrick Mahomes and Co. are undefeated heading into Week 10 and the running back has been a big contributor.
In fact, Coach Andy Reid could not help but gush about the Chiefs' versatile weapon after they won against the Denver Broncos: "Yeah, well, we think touches for him end up being important. He's a good football player, so you want to have him have an opportunity to show off those talents. He's always been a good receiver. We weren't getting as much out of the run game as we wanted to, so we started throwing it a little bit more, and he became an important part of that."
There is still a long way to go for his image to change in front of the fans, especially after he kicked a woman. His on-field performance spike could be a good start and a fair chunk of his reputation could be salvaged if he maintains a respectable character.
