George Foreman Grill, originally called the George Foreman Lean Mean Fat-Reducing Grilling Machine, was launched in 1994. It's a portable double-sided electrically heated grill that became highly successful because it was so different from any product on the market and also due to an aggressive infomercial campaign featuring legendary two-time world heavyweight boxing champion George Foreman. George Foreman owned the patent for this grill and was instrumental in its creation and promotion.

The American company Salton, Inc. started producing the grill after purchasing all facilities of the original manufacturer; they licensed George Foreman's name and paid him $137.5 million in cash and stock for which to continue selling products bearing his moniker on them, including indoor as well as outdoor grills in 1999. The deal meant Foreman would earn at least $250 million, higher than his boxing career combined. As a result, it is fair to say that George Foreman no longer owns the brand of his beloved grill in recent information available.
The Foreman Grill Today
The Foreman Grill has been a staple product for many years, with over 100 million units sold since its introduction. The product's success was mainly due to its new concept, communications, and George Foreman's recommendation. The Foreman Grill has continued to evolve and improve. For example, in 2006, it released the "Next Grilleration" Health Grill in its current form, the Next Grilleration G5 interchangeable plate grill.
