The Future of Boxing is on Full Display This Weekend

Two boxing events this weekend will give a glimpse into the future of the sport. On Friday, November 8th, Keyshawn Davis will fight Gustavo Lemos. Davis, 25, is one of boxing's top young fighters. The American boxer won a Silver Medal at the 2020 Olympics and has 11 wins in 12 fights, including one no-contest. Gustavo Daniel Lemos's opponent is a 29-1 pro boxer and a contender in the lightweight division. Davis believes a win on Firdya cements him as a lightweight contender.
"I'm the best at 135 period, and I'm here to show the world. I'm not trying to say I'm the best when I become world champion. I'm not trying to say I'm the best when I become the face of boxing. I'm saying I'm the best right now." Davis told Dan Rafael on the Big Fight Weekend Boxing Podcast. Davis talks the talk, and soon enough, boxing fans will find out if he can back it up. From an athletic standpoint, Davis is one of the most naturally talented boxers USA boxing has seen in years.
Davis's homecoming fight in Norfolk, Virginia, can be watched on ESPN. The main event is projected to start at 11 PM ET. However, tune in a bit earlier to watch one of the top boxing prospects, Abdullah Mason. The 20-year-old American is considered one of USA boxing's top prospects. He will take on Yohan Vazquez in an eight-round lightweight bout.

On Saturday, DAZN is putting on one of the best events of 2024. IBF welterweight champion Jaron Boots Ennis, the most exciting offensive talent in boxing, will be the main event in his hometown of Philadelphia. against Karen Chukhadzhian. This fight is a rematch. In their first meeting, Ennis secured a dominant unanimous decision victory.
The co-main event will feature Ring Magazine's seventh-ranked pound-for-pound boxer, Jesse Bam Rodriguez. The 24-year-old Rodriguez is a two-division world champion and current super flyweight champion. He will take on veteran boxer and former WBC flyweight champion Pedro Guevara.
Ennis and Rodriguez are on the same card, which makes Saturday's card one of the most exciting events in combat sports in 2024. Two highly skilled boxers, who are main event level talent on the same card is a rare treat for boxing fans.
