Courtland Sutton is going to be due for a big bag from the Denver Broncos. However, he did not have a holdout and avoided giving Sean Payton a headache during training camp. The elite wide receiver may still not know who he’s going to be catching bombs from but he does have a lot of belief in what his head honcho is building.
A lot of stars like Brandon Aiyuk are not going to be present at training camp because they want to have leverage when it comes to getting a longer tenure. Courtland Sutton did not choose this route and instead wanted to be a team player. He outlined his reasoning behind the move, via Grant Gordon of the NFL.
"I believe in this system. I believe in this organization. Being here going into my seventh year, I believe in what the Broncos organization has stood for for years, and I know that we have what we need to be able to get this organization back into the rankings that it needs to be in. I believe in the offense Coach Payton and the guys put together,” Sutton proclaimed.
Sutton went as far as discussing that the Broncos already had some momentum in 2023 and just needed to have the proper rotational and schematic changes such that they could reach the postseason.
"Like I said, we had success last year. We may have come up short a few times, but we've had success. And I think there's a lot more promise that's there that a lot of people may not believe in, and that's completely fine with us because we like to play with that chip on our shoulders,” the wide receiver concluded.
Will he be proven right and get some more entries in the win column by the fall?
