The way the Philadelphia Eagles collapsed in their 2023 run was not at all great. They started off great with Jalen Hurts looking like he could be an MVP and Jason Kelce playing like he had 10 more years in him. However, the second half of the season all the way to their postseason implosion mattered more than the hot start. Now, this squad is looking for vengeance and even Devin White can sense it in the air during training camp.
The Eagles are getting Saquon Barkley and a revamped Jalen Hurts in the coming season. This combination along with their elite secondary, linemen, and weapons are surely going to ravage the league. However, it might be the newfound urgency and killer mentality that the Eagles have which will scare teams. Devin White noted just how lethal this squad has become, via Judy Battista of the NFL.
"I think it was, at the end, injury plays a part in the playoffs. That sense of urgency on defense from the Eagles - the Bucs, we had it. We was hungry, we was feisty. That gets you over the top. They were lacking it for whatever reason, injury, didn't have the will to win, the want to. But it's a new unit. They brought great players back in. ... It's hard to lose that focus when you got a lot of great leaders on the field,” he noted.
Even AJ Brown observed that everyone in the Eagles system has been working harder than before which could spark a generational run to the Super Bowl.
"How hard guys are working, that's all you can gauge that by. Guys are not sitting around and waiting for stuff to happen. Or pouting. That's all that matters. All I care about. I got in trouble, the first day he was out here, I was just watching, I was supposed to be blocking. I had to snap back to reality,” the receiver said.
It surely is a new dawn for the 2023 Super Bowl runners-up.
