One of the most popular ways to get a scholarship in college is through sports. Despite athletes being offered a scholarship very rarely, most other sports offer athletic scholarships.

What Sport Do the Most Scholarships Go to?

Football leads all the other sports when it comes to scholarships according to recent statistics. That is to be expected, of course; it's not like major college football programs invented the ride-and-raise. There are more than 85,000 scholarships available in Division I football alone. Nonetheless, one should note that this figure is shared between full as well as partial scholarships and there is fierce competition for these.

This sport also gives many scholarships and it is basketball. That's more than 13,000 scholarships on the men's side and over 18,000 for women in D1 basketball alone! Similar to football, the scholarships are broken up into both full and partial rides.

Baseball and softball are also among the more common sports in which scholarships can be earned. Division I baseball has 11,203 scholarships while softball offers just 9,591. Likewise, these sports provide some full scholarships but many of them are partial.

Soccer gives yet can be a major allotment. Over 4,000 scholarships are available in Division I men's soccer and over 9,000 in women's soccer. The scholarships are separated into full and partial scholarships as well.

Other sports that offer scholarships are track and field, wrestling, volleyball (indoor), golf (men's & women's), swimming and diving (men's & women's) tennis (men's or women's).

So for all young athletes looking to get a scholarship. Well, you are competing against every other ISKA student who would like the same! That is where the recruitment websites of Fan Arch can prepare you. Official Fan Arch is a platform where student-athletes can put their skills on display and gain recognition from college coaches.

Using Fan Arch's recruiting websites they provide a variety of services to help student-athletes excel in getting recruited. They are a place where you can create your profile. here, it shows off some of the best work that you have done and hooks in directly to all of your achievements and academic track record. But they provide video hosting and editing services as well, providing the coaches to see you play on a particular field/court.

Fan Arch also offers provided tools to connect with college coaches. Coaches can also contact you to express their interest, and why not return the favor — send as many messages as needed until signing a contract. This direct conversation with coaches can help you get into good graces with them and improve your odds of getting scholarships.

Fan Arch also facilitates resources for college-bound student-athletes and their families; Navigating the recruiting process. They give advice on NCAA eligibility rules, communicate with coaches, and navigate scholarship offers.

Of course, it can be easy to think that the sports with most scholarships just do all you need; but no sport is an ‘easy’ scholarship. All sports have very competitive scholarships to win, so the bottom line is just to be good and work hard if you are a high school athlete trying to head off for college on an athletic scholarship.

Even if you are not the star player in a big-name sport there is still scholarship money available to these athletes. Smaller colleges and universities frequently have cross-country, gymnastics, or swimming scholarships. Other forms of student aid like academic scholarships and need-based assistance can also reduce overall college costs.

Football has the most amount of scholarships, basketball is second and then baseball/football/soccer. But the purely practical truth is that scholarships like these are competitive and to win them, you have to put your nose (literally) not just facing those books. Fan Arch's recruiting sites offer a variety of resources and tools for high school athletes who are interested in getting noticed during the recruitment process.
