Jimmy Horn Jr. has been one of the best surprises for Coach Prime in Colorado. The South Florida transfer and native has had a significant impact on Colorado since he jumped into the portal and came to Colorado, but in a day in the age of NIL, how much NIL money does he make, especially on a team like Colorado, where the players have their social media handles on the back of their practice jerseys and with the NIL world at an all-time high in Boulder?
Who is Jimmy Horn Jr.?:
Jimmy Horn Jr. attended Seminole High School in Sanford, Florida. Three-sport star out of high school, the three-star football prospect Jimmy Horn Jr. decided to stay in state and went to the University of South Florida to play football. Horn Jr. scored 959 receiving yards in two seasons at USF and four total touchdowns. When it came time to jump into the transfer portal, Horn's decision came from his father. Horn Sr. initially wanted him to play for Coach Prime at Jackson State, but Coach Prime promised to keep an eye on Jimmy Horn Jr., bringing Horn to Colorado with him. So far, in two seasons, he has received 1,000 yards and seven total touchdowns as a Buff. Horn runs a 4.34 40-yard dash. For most scouts, Horn Jr. is not the ideal size for a receiver but could be a significant player as a slot receiver. Coming from USF, he was the number one receiver on that team, and on any other receiving core in the country, he is a number one receiver. The Draft Network projects him to be on Day 3 of the draft and would be a massive steal for any NFL team needing a slot receiver.

Jimmy Horn Sr., the father of Jimmy Horn Jr., is currently incarcerated for drug-related charges in November 2021. In his Amazon Prime documentary, coach Prime spoke on Jimmy Horn Sr., saying, "He's a good man and good father, great disciplinarian..who just made a mistake in life." Horn Sr. initially wanted Horn Jr. to go to Jackson State and play for Coach Prime, but Prime promised to keep an eye on Jimmy, and he has kept his word and brought Jimmy to Colorado with him. Horn Jr. is the first male in his family to get to college.

NIL Deals and Valuation

His NIL value surged massively from $212,000 to $454,000 in the early part of the 2023 season. His current value is between $100,000 and $500,000.
