Many stars who came into the WWF and WWE had very insane physiques. Their muscles were always protruding outwards and their bodily features looked exaggerated at times. These are all done in the spirit of showmanship. However, some wrestlers tend to use a different method to achieve this body archetype. What could this be and did Randy Savage every dabble with it?
Randy Savage was a very well-known wrestler during his time. Some think his showmanship is still unmatched despite the influx of modern era stars in the WWE. However, he might have only gotten his physique due to steroids. Many have contested the idea of using the drug due to its adverse health effects. However, it seems as though this did not bother him.
The Macho Man used anabolic steroids at one point of his WWE career. Back then, it was legal to consume the said substance without much repercussions or stigma. However, Savage no longer liked the idea of constantly having to use it just to keep his shape. Eventually, he stopped and forever called the drug a poison.
He lost a lot of mass due to aging. However, many people suggest that the weight loss was very rapid. They think that its the steroid dependence of his body which caused such shift. Meanwhile, others just posit that this is normally what happens when someone uses their body in a pursuit like wrestling. Despite the speculation, one thing is certain. Randy Savage did use steroids but started shying away from it early such that he would not become addicted to it.
