According to Wrestling Journalist and Historian Dave Meltzer, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson will not be able to participate in WrestleMania 41. Dwayne Johnson is one of the busiest actors in Hollywood. He has three upcoming releases Red One, Moana 2, and The Smashing Machine. It will be very difficult to promote those movies and train for a WrestleMania-level match in April. Meltzer pointed out in his Newsletter that the Rock's schedule is too busy. Well, where does that leave the WWE? The Rock's Final Boss character is set to play a major role in the storyline of Roman Reigns. The Roman Reigns vs the Rock match has to happen. It was just teased at Bad Blood that the Rock is coming back to face Roman.
The Final Boss vs Cody Rhodes storyline is not over either. Unfortunately, not only is The Rock very busy but he is too big of a name to compete against Reigns or Rhodes in any event, not WrestleMania. Does the WWE have to wait until 2026 or 2027?
"He kinda does what he wants to do when he wants to do it. That’s the cool thing about being the Final Boss I think. He’s The Rock, he can do what he wants to do" Triple H stated in the Bad Blood Press Conference.
Does this turn the attention of Wrestlemania 41 to Roman Reigns vs Cody Rhodes 3, to finish the trilogy? Perhaps. The last two matches have been fantastic. They are undoubtedly the two biggest stars in wrestling. Nonetheless, the Rock has cemented himself as a major part of this storyline. He needs to participate in this story's final chapter. Perhaps The Rock is returning for WrestleMania 41, and the WWE is trying to make what is to come less predictable. Still, if the WWE are going to continue to elevate the Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns saga the Rock has to be present.
