Jade Cargill’s arrival in WWE has been nothing short of impactful. Since joining the company in late 2023, she has quickly established herself as a force to be reckoned with, showcasing a unique blend of power, athleticism, and charisma. As of September 2023, she performs on the SmackDown brand. Now, in 2025, after a series of strategic moves and impressive performances, the question on everyone's mind is: Is Jade Cargill poised for a championship run?
A Meteoric Rise in WWE
Cargill made her WWE in-ring debut at the Royal Rumble in January 2024, entering at number 28 and eliminating notable stars like Nia Jax, Becky Lynch, and Naomi. Although she was eventually eliminated by Liv Morgan, her dominant showing signaled her arrival as a major player in WWE. She was subsequently assigned to the SmackDown brand.
Her momentum continued at WrestleMania XL, where she teamed with Naomi and Bianca Belair to defeat Damage CTRL in a six-woman tag team match, with Cargill securing the pinfall victory over Dakota Kai. This win further solidified her status as a rising star and a valuable asset to the women’s division. Shortly after, Cargill and Belair won the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship at Backlash France, defeating the Kabuki Warriors . They would later regain the titles at Bash in Berlin after losing them in a triple threat match at Clash at the Castle: Scotland to the Unholy Union.
Navigating Challenges and Setbacks
Despite her early success, Cargill faced adversity when she was mysteriously attacked backstage in November 2024, resulting in her being written off television and removed from the WarGames match at Survivor Series . According to reports, the reason she was written off television was due to an undisclosed injury. This setback tested her resilience, but Cargill returned with a vengeance at Elimination Chamber in March 2025, attacking Naomi and reigniting their feud. On the following episode of SmackDown, Naomi revealed herself as the person that attacked Cargill. This led to a high-profile match at WrestleMania 41, where Cargill defeated Naomi in what was the first non-title women's singles match at WrestleMania since 2006 and the first without a stipulation.
The Championship Trajectory
Cargill's journey in WWE is building towards a potential championship opportunity. Her win at WrestleMania 41 against Naomi has positioned her as a top contender in the SmackDown women's division. With her combination of strength, agility, and undeniable presence, Cargill has all the tools to capture a major title.
Cargill wrestles in a powerhouse style. While in AEW, she was nicknamed That Bitch. She has credited female wrestler Chyna and X-Men character Storm as her inspirations. She has also cited Jacqueline Moore and Jazz as being among her favorite wrestlers.
The Road Ahead
Looking ahead, the landscape of WWE’s women’s division is ripe with possibilities for Cargill. Whether she challenges for the WWE Women’s Championship or carves a path to a new title, her potential is undeniable. As one fan put it, "Jade Cargill has improved so much since her official WWE debut at The 2024 Women’s Royal Rumble". Cargill’s trajectory suggests that she is on a path to become a dominant champion in WWE.
