Odell Beckham Opens Up About Retirement Rumors

There was not a more electric wide receiver in the 2010s than Odell Beckham Jr. From his partnership with Eli Manning in the New York Giants system to his stint with Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens, OBJ has constantly proven that he sits atop the mountain of greatness alongside the best people to ever do it. However, much like any player in the league, his time has to come soon. So, did he retire? Let's find out.
A storied career for Odell Beckham Jr.
It is always guaranteed that a top receiver from the LSU football program would flourish into a generational talent in the NFL. If Ja'Marr Chase and Justin Jefferson aren't enough proof, Odell Beckham Jr. would certainly close that debate. He got picked 12th overall by the Giants back in 2012 and had amazing chemistry with Eli Manning.
Throughout his first three seasons, he was a Pro Bowl selection every time. Injuries hampered his chances of being able to pop off for his team again but he stayed with the Giants up until 2018. Beckham then found himself with the Cleveland Browns but there was nothing much that came out of that stint. Finally, he landed with Matthew Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams. This team from the West Coast gave him his first and only Super Bowl win.
Beckham stayed another year in the league and moved to the Ravens. He thought that John Harbaugh and Lamar Jackson would give him another shot at football immortality but the Kansas City Chiefs were just too strong. He had some hope alongside Mike McDaniel and Tua Tagovailoa but his run with the Miami Dolphins has not bore any fruits just yet because he has not played a snap for them.
Dolphins WR gets real on retirement rumors
Beckham is just on the PUP (Physically Unable to Perform list). However, he is not at all retired and has been in constant talks to be field by Coach Mike McDaniel as the season goes by. He even blasted a lot of fans and media outlets for suggesting that he got the Dolphins to give him a retirement package when he signed in Free Agency.
“Yea I think just keep posting bs for clicks and it should definitely make the answers appear. Anyways everybody over here kno what’s goin on (the team and ppl in this building) time will tell what and how the rest of the story goes. Just gotta realize I get more likes in click with my name in a story then without it… ppl really be bored asf…. Name who person who wants to work from 7am/7pm and not get to do the one thing they love. Plz make that make sense. Get the facts straight , mind ya biz," he wrote in a post.
OBJ's career is a marvel to behold. He is continuing his career with 566 receptions and 7,932 yards. To put his greatness into perspective, Beckham gave the offense an average gain of 14 yards per catch. It is almost always a first down whenever he was the target on offense. Hopefully, the Dolphins get him back from injury soon.
