Top NFL prospect Shedeur Sanders is expected to be among the top picks in the 2025 NFL Draft, and while looking to impress at a Colorado Buffaloes pro day, the talented quarterback was decked out in special sneakers provided by Nike.
The 23-year-old quarterback, the youngest son of two-time Super Bowl champion cornerback Deion, is said to have plenty of suitors and no doubt the ringing endorsement of the sportswear giant will only aid his case for a shot at the big time.
The new NFL season is just around the corner, and fans who want to back their side in the 2025 season can do so with the aid of best sportsbook promos the shown here, thereby making any potential wager even closer to risk-free.
The sneakers in question are exclusive editions of his father’s, and Shedeur played alongside fellow NFL draft pick favorite Travis Hunter. Both players are set to see their numbers, two and 12, retired by Colorado.
As wanted as Sanders is in the draft, he won’t, in all likelihood, be the first quarterback to be drafted; that honor is set to go to Cam Ward. As for Shedeur, by all accounts, it’s the New Orleans Saints who may take him on.
However, there are some solid sources suggesting the New York Giants may get there first, perhaps as early as the third pick overall. Last year, Sanders excelled, completing 353 of his 477 passes for a total of 4,134 yards, 37 touchdowns and ten interceptions.
That said, there has been some negative press related to Shedeur prior to the NFL Draft, both in terms of his talent and his temperament. An assessment from an NFL quarterbacks coach noted,
"Shedeur is a really, really talented passer,"
"Not elite arm strength, but I don't think it's anything that will hinder you. He's got ability to throw to all three levels. He's good on the ball-out, quick passing game. Can move around. Tough as all get out. He'll take hits and just hop up and it doesn't really faze him. That's impressive. There's things there that's got to improve. I think he can do it."
However, in contrast, in terms of his attitude, a longtime NFL assistant coach, anonymously stated,
"[Sanders had] the worst formal interview I've ever been in in my life. He's so entitled. He takes unnecessary sacks. He never plays on time. He has horrible body language. He blames teammates. ... But the biggest thing is, he's not that good."
Clearly, you can take such comments with a kilo of salt, and in the end, if he delivers on the field, talk of off-field personality evaporates pretty quickly.
One imagines that any NFL team would look to consider taking Sanders, and there’ll be no shortage of takers, and then whether he can silence the doubters, especially in relation to how his parentage has been an advantage or not, is down to Shedeur and Sheduer alone.
