The younger brother of the famous NFL quarterback Michael Vick, Marcus Deon Vick was born on March 20, 1984, in Newport News, Virginia.

Raised in the economically challenged East End neighborhood in Newport News, Marcus grew up in a tough area ravaged by crime and sports became his sanctuary to help steer clear of the struggles of everyday life.

Early Life and The Rise Of Football

Marcus was born in the Ridley Circle Homes, a public housing project in Chesapeake, Virginia, the son of Brenda Vick and Michael Boddie.

Growing up, his father, a former football player, began to teach him and his brother, Michael, the skills needed for football early on.

Marcus got his start in football at Warwick High School where he learned the position under the tutelage of Tommy Reamon, who was instrumental as the quarterbacks coach for both Marcus' brother, Michael, and older cousin, Aaron Brooks, a pair of NFL quarterbacks.

Football Career and College Life

Marcus Vick was an athletic stud as a high schooler at Warwick, yet he became known for his shortcomings. This caught the eye of also Texas, North Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee, and Miami, who all extended offers to Davis. In the end, he decided to follow his brother to Virginia Tech.

Marcus played a big role as the quarterback at Virginia Tech.

The two way quarterback who ran and threw - leading the team to a resounding 2003 upset against #2 Miami - flashed his talents at both passing and running, capped by famous team wins.

Although he initially enjoyed success on the field, his playing career was plagued by off-the-field legal issues and misconduct, ultimately resulting in his removal from the team in 2006.

Life After College

After leaving Virginia Tech, Marcus Vick signed with the Miami Dolphins after the 2006 NFL Draft after going undrafted and played one game for the team before being cut. He has since run into numerous legal issues, clouding a bright future in football.
