John Lynch gets real on 49ers, Brandon Aiyuk holdout

There are a lot of timelines branching from Brandon Aiyuk and the San Francisco 49ers’ inability to reach a deal. One of the most prominent outcomes that fans are starting to get accustomed to is a trade with the Pittsburgh Steelers. However, John Lynch and the front office are still continuously trying to get the wideout to catch bombs from Brock Purdy when the season starts.
Clearly, this situation has gotten out of hand with the season slowly inching closer. The 49ers along with Kyle Shanahan need to know if they need to have a overhaul in their schemes and rotations given Brandon Aiyuk’s holdout. So, what does John Lynch think of all this? It sounds like the general manager is quite tired, via Around the NFL.
"You know, I'm not going to characterize any chances or anything. I can tell you this, it's been a long, arduous, hard process, a hard journey. We started this early and for whatever reason haven't been able to get it across the finish line. That's been frustrating, but the communication still has been really good,” the 49ers general manager said.
Amid all of this confusion about Aiyuk and his contract, the 49ers are still hoping that they would have him in the coming season. Even Lynch welcomed the idea of still being able to have one of the league’s top route runners in Kyle Shanahan’s system.
“You know I'm always hopeful. I'm an optimistic person in nature, and I'm always hopeful that we'll get there and get there soon. I can tell you, we feel the urgency to have him, the season's approaching, and we have ample time,” he declared.
Will Lynch and the 49ers get their wish?
