Having a wealth of talent at the quarterback position is a good problem to have for the Denver Broncos. They struggled to get yardage and notch win column entries last season and all of that looks to be changing under Sean Payton’s new rotation. Who showed up when it mattered most in their NFL Preseason clash against the Indianapolis Colts? Well, it was all three of Bo Nix, Jarrett Stidham, and Zach Wilson.
It was an all-around slugfest that ended with the Broncos taking home the 34-30 win in the NFL Preseason. Nix was the one who completely blazed up for Sean Payton’s squad. He may not have gotten the starting role just yet but his stat line showed that he is more than capable of taking over. The rookie out of Oregon football finished by completing 15 passes on 21 attempts while giving the squad a total gain of 125 yards along with a touchdown.
Zach Wilson also showed up in this NFL Preseason clash. The former New York Jets starting signal caller turned Broncos quarterback was productive during the snaps that he was fielded in. By the end of it all, he also notched 117 yards by having 10 completions on 13 attempts.
Jarrett Stidham may not have seen the field much but his 37 passing yards while darting three completions on seven passes were quite sufficient for an entry in the win column. However, he does need to improve to get back into Sean Payton’s QB1 competition because he threw a momentum-shifting interception. Overall, it looks like the Broncos head honcho is welcoming the tough challenge of having these many talented signal callers on his squad.
"All three of them did a good job," was all that the Broncos head honcho could say according to Grant Gordon of the NFL.
