Breaking Down the Top Remaining Offensive Players in NFL Free Agency

With names like Sam Darnold, Davante Adams, Stefon Diggs, Justin Fields, Cooper Kupp, and Najee Harris off the board, a significant amount of the heavy lifting has been done this NFL offseason. Most of the league's attention has shifted to the draft which is quickly approaching at the end of this month (April 24-26), but we are still five months away from the start of the 2025 regular season and numerous impact offensive players are still searching for a home.

Here is a breakdown of three of the top names still available. If you are looking to bet on where these players will end up in free agency, there are numerous betting apps in Canada that will provide odds on remaining NFL free agents.

Amari Cooper

Amari Cooper split time between the Cleveland Browns and Buffalo Bills last season after being traded to Buffalo at the deadline for a third-round pick. His production was down significantly in Cleveland which could easily be pinned on Deshaun Watson, but we didn’t see any improvement when he teamed up with Josh Allen, arguably the league's best quarterback right now. After posting consecutive 1000 plus receiving seasons, Cooper posted the lowest total of this career at 547 – just his third time in 10 seasons he has been below the 1000 mark. Cooper is now on the wrong side of 30, but he’s still young enough that a bounce back seems likely, and he should be considered the best free agent option on the market.

The wide receiver has been linking to the Seattle Seahawks, who parted ways with both D.K. Metcalf and Tyler Lockett this offseason. They have replaced one of their former receivers with Cooper Kupp and should be looking for another weapon for newly acquired quarterback Sam Darnold.

Aaron Rodgers

Aaron Rodgers had a disappointing two years with the New York Jets, tearing his Achillies in his first game with the team in 2023 and posting the lowest passer rating (90.5) of his career last season. Rodgers is still a solid NFL quarterback, but now on the wrong side of 40, it’s difficult to envision him ever returning to his all-star form.
Rodgers has recently been linked to the Pittsburgh Steelers, who parted ways with both Russell Wilson and Justin Fields this offseason. Fields will be replacing Rodgers in New York and the Steelers are in desperate need of a quarterback with Mason Rudolph and

Skylar Thompson at the top of their depth chart.
Rodgers was seen practicing with the Steelers’ newly acquired receiver D.K. Metcalf at UCLA recently, indicating that he is strongly considering playing in Pittsburgh this season. Metcalf and George Pickens would give Rodgers two great receiving options, upgrading from just having one in Garrett Wilson last season.

Keenan Allen

After posting five consecutive all-star seasons, Keenan Allen has been on and off for the past four years, making the all-star team and posting over 1000 receiving yards in 2021 and 2023.

2024 was an off year for Allen, which you could either attribute to it being his age 32 season or him teaming up with rookie quarterback Caleb Williams. Allen may or may not return to his all-star form depending on where he lands, but his production last season still makes him a solid NFL receiver.
Allen has indicated in interviews that he would like to return to the Chicago Bears or his former team, the Los Angeles Chargers. Chargers' receiver Mike Williams has expressed his desire for Allen to return on social media, but his return would likely make Williams the fourth option in LA, with Ladd McConkey, Allen, and Quentin Johnson ahead of him. The Bears are more in need of a wide receiver than the Chargers at the moment, with Olamide Zaccheaus behind DJ Moore and Rome Odunze as the WR3.

JK Dobbins

After rushing for a career-high 905 yards, averaging 4.6 yards per carry, JK Dobbins was released by the Chargers, who signed Najee Harris to a one-year, $9.25 million deal. Harris averages just 3.9 yards per carry for his career compared to Dobbins who averages 5.2, but Harris has yet to miss a game, playing 17 in all four of his NFL seasons. Dobbins on the other hand has struggled to stay healthy, playing just 22 games over the past three seasons.

Dobbins is only 26 years old and incredibly productive when he is on the field, so if he could stay healthy for a good portion of the 2025 season, he could be a steal for whichever team chooses to sign him. The Denver Broncos have been linking to the running back and could certainly use an upgrade at the position over the duo of Audric Estime and Jaleel McLaughlin. Denver is also looking to give Bo Nix another weapon at wide receiver in addition to Courtland Sutton, so they will likely wait and see who falls to them in the draft at pick 20 before making any free agent decisions.
