Biggest Fantasy Bust So Far in NFL
Biggest Fantasy Bust So Far in NFL

We’ve just past the halfway point of the 2024 NFL season and so far a plethora of injuries this season have severely affected many fantasy football rosters.
It isn’t just injuries that have hindered some of these players, but their performance this year has labeled them as outright fantasy bust this season.
One name that sticks out more than most is Christian McCaffrey. After an amazing 2023 season where he nearly won offensive player of the year, many fantasy owners kept an eye for McCaffrey being taken in the first round.
However because of an achilles tendonitis injury in both of his heels, McCaffrey has been riding the bench all season this year.
McCaffrey is looking to make his debut by week 10, but with only a handful of games left in the fantasy season it almost seems moot to have McCaffrey play this year.
In McCaffrey's defense, his unfortunate fantasy season was due to injury and completely out of his control. For some players though, they were complete disappointments this year on their own merit.
Keenan Allen has been a major bust this year for fantasy owners after joining the Chicago Bears this season. Last season, Allen had over 1,200 receiving yards and was projected to be one of the best receivers in the league once again.
However that has not been the case, Allen has only amassed 197 receiving yards this year on 21 catches and we’re already in week 10.
It’s no surprise that Allen has struggled since joining Chicago. Right now the Bears are trying to develop their young quarterback in Caleb Williams and with other targets such as DJ Moore, Rome Odunze, Cole Kmet and De’Andre Swift, the aging Allen has been the odd man out in Chicago.
Another bust this year is Buffalo Bills tight end Dalton Kincaid. 2024 has been a down year for tight ends and Kincaid should be included in that conversation. Kincaid showed major potential in his rookie season when Dawson Knox went down with injury.
Kincaid finished the year with over 600 receiving yards and looked to be a primary target for fantasy owners in the 2024 NFL season. Kincaid had underperformed to say the least.
Kincaid was set to be Josh Allen’s new favorite target after the departure of Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis, but that has not been the case.
Kincaid has only 332 receiving yards so far this season and has only started six of his nine games played. Knox has returned from injury and is still the Bills primary tight end, leaving Kincaid the short end of the stick.
The Bills also have multiple targets for Allen as well. They have players such as James Cook, Khalil Shakir, Keon Coleman and the recently acquired Amari Cooper. The acquisition of Cooper has really hurt Kincaid’s production.
Just like every fantasy football season there will be sleepers and outright bust. So far this season these players have underperformed to say the least. With the fantasy season almost over, it’s safe to say that these players are busts this season.
