Antonio Brown's horrid 'lesbian' WNBA claim

The WNBA has been around for a while as legends made a name for themselves in the women's game. A big resurgence hit the league when stars like A'ja Wilson, Caitlin Clark, Diana Taurasi, Angel Reese, and Sabrina Ionescu among others started to pop off on the court and away from it. However, not everybody is liking this and that group of people includes former NFL wide receiver Antonio Brown.
What did Antonio Brown say about the WNBA?
The former wideout saw a tweet describing the state of the women's league. The post from The Blaze stated that the WNBA was about to lose roughly $50 million come the season's end. It also claimed that they are hard-pressed to exist without its brother league, the NBA.
After seeing and presumably reading the piece, Brown immediately posted his reaction on X, formerly Twitter.
"This why I’ve found all the WNBA talk to be hilarious. Nobody actually watches it. So when you’re arguing about it, you’re not really arguing about a professional sport. It’s more of just a charity for lesbians," he declared
Brown then followed it up with usual #CTESPN tag too.
How is the league doing now?
Well, the reports aren't all bad when it comes to the WNBA. Due to the dominance of A'ja Wilson alongside the rivialry between Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese, the league has garnered more viewers. To put that into perspective, the WNBA had an 87% spike in terms of viewership as the season progressed.
Sales from merchandise have also been amazing for the league so far. Sabrina Ionescu's shoes have been a staple sneaker on the court even for male players. The Indiana Fever have also pushed the league into playing in bigger stadiums as well as giving the players chartered flights.
The state of the WNBA is not all bad. In a few years, maybe it can have the same gains as the NBA too.
