Fes fled the small town where he was studying for his USP qualification in Coaching and Sports Development back in 2011 due to an escalation of racism and abuse. The non-stop harassment led his mental well-being to rock bottom as he contemplated suicide. It eventually hit a crisis point when Lady Gaga's "Marry The Night" lyrics sang his name and propelled him into the limelight.
Transition to Boxing
After a bout of depression, inspired by pop superstar Lady Gaga and determined to overcome the same struggles that had plagued him for so long, Fes decided he would become a professional boxer. That summer, he was extended an invitation from the Mayweather camp to try out with some training sessions in Las Vegas. This was when his journey began in the pro boxing scene.
In 2012, Fes returned to Las Vegas and trained under the guidance of the legendary Mayweather family, where he continued to learn his craft. Afterward, he started training with Dewey Cooper, a Hall of Fame inductee into the Masters of Martial Arts and two-time world kickboxing champion. Under Cooper, Batista became an all-around boxer-puncher, showing off both offensive and defensive skills.
Professional Boxing Career
Fes Batista took a giant step in his professional boxing career the day he signed with one of the boxing superstars, Roy Jones Jr. This partnership gave Fes the base and support needed to get a foothold in the tough industry of professional boxing.
After three years, Fes made his pro debut on March 28th of this year in Pensacola Bay Center, Florida.
