At 15-0, Magomedov is quickly rising the UFC ranks. On Saturday, he will face off against former Bellator veteran and fellow fan favorite Michael Venom Page. MVP is one of the trickiest and most elusive fighters in all of MMA. Like Magomedov, MVP possesses an unpredictable stand-up game and elite striking. This fight promises to be a thrilling one. Michael Venom Page is the underdog in this fight on Draft Kings at #160, but MVP has the edge in experience and a six-inch reach advantage. Do not be afraid to support the underdog in this matchup.
Is this the end of Israel Adesanya?
Israel Adesanya is one of the biggest stars in MMA history. The former middleweight champion defended his title five times and is one of the division's greatest champions. Saturday's fight between Israel Adesanya and the #5 ranked middleweight Nassourdine Imavov is Adesanya's first non-UFC title fight in six years. After losing three of his last four fights, this could be the last fight of Style Bender's career if he loses to Imavov on Saturday. It appears Adesanya has lost the competitive fire in his recent fights with Sean Strickland and Driscus Du Plessis. After having one of the most successful careers in UFC history, the 35-year-old Adesanya's best days are likely behind him. If he loses to Imavov on Saturday, it is safe to say Adesayna will never challenge for the title again, and if he is not fighting for the title, there is no reason for Adesanya to fight again.
"I feel like the guy, an old dog, then there's guys coming up, trying to prove themselves. So it's my job to send them back down and let them know, still here." Adesanya stated.
He sounds like a fighter nearing the end of his career, not one still competing for legacy and a belt. This may be the last time we see the legend in the Octagon. Maybe the "old dog" still has tricks and can pull off a win on Saturday.
