A well-known fact about Simone Biles is that she was adopted. It was because her biological parents could not afford to raise her which is why she was handed over to Ron and Nellie Biles. Many have come to wonder what happened to both of her parents, especially her father. This article will aim to answer that very query and expound on the relationship, or lack thereof, between the biological family.
Simone Biles' father is named Kevin Clemons. He and Shanone Biles struggled to care for their children. This is why Simone Biles alongside her other siblings went in and out of foster care as early as three years old prior to getting adopted. Her mother also struggled with addiction which explains the decision to distance themselves from their biological parents.
Even the greatest gymnast of all time did not care to seek out her biological father despite the amount of money and fame that she has amassed: “I've been so fortunate with everything that God has given me and all the tools of life. So I never really cared to find out who my biological father was, or really gain a close relationship with my biological mom. Which I'm sure she probably wanted. But the cards that I was dealt, I just never felt a need to go back. Which is very different for a lot of kids, because they feel kind of that void. But I never did.”
As of the moment, Biles attributes all of her success to the support given by Ron and Nellie Biles. She even said that her gymnastics career probably would have never panned out if they ended up with their biological parents instead of getting adopted.
