Athletic gifts are often passed down in different generations. So, it comes to no one's surprise that the world's greatest and most decorated athletes come from families which big backgrounds in the world of sports. Xander Schauffele comes from this exact type of family and his success has been nurtured at a young age because his parents understood what it took to be dominant. Let's get to meet them.
Ping Yi Chen and Stefan Schauffele welcomed their son on the 25th of October in 1993. Both of them had very interesting jobs. Xander Schauffele's mother was an insanely smart and gifted woman. This is why she pursued a career in aerospace engineering. His father, on the other hand, was a renowned swing coach who was the first to teach him golf.
Later on, both of them would go on to coach their son full-time instead of continuing their careers. A lot of it stemmed from the fact that they wanted Xander to have a shot of being a renowned athlete, a dream that both parents carried. Stefan, in particular, was very eager to teach his son because he wanted him to notch what his dream was. See, he went through an unfortunate car accident which left him to live without a left eye anymore. This rendered his dreams of being an athlete over.
The two would succeed in investing all their time to take care of Xander. He is now in the PGA and has even reached a career-best ranking of sixth in the world. There is still so much golf to be played in his career and fans can surely look forward to seeing both of his parents rooting for him.
