Both Amy and Phil Mickelson attended Arizona State University. Phil was the top golfer of the Sun Devils while Amy pursued a career in cheerleading. Their paths crossed somehow and the two refused to no longer be in each other's presence since. So, while he transitioned into becoming one of the top stars in the PGA, she carved a career for herself in the NBA while working for the Phoenix Suns.
Eventually, the two decided to tie the knot in 1996. It did not take long for them to welcome their first child into the world in 1999. A fun fact is that when their eldest was born, Phil was on the verge of winning first runner up at the US Open. He attributes this triumph to his wife and child. Since then, the couple has welcomed two more children and lives quite a happy life.
Amy has since retired from her career as an NBA cheerleader. She is now more focused on their non-profit organization, Birdies for the Brave. They have been organizing charity events for United States Armed Forces members and their families since 2004. Phil, on the other hand, has moved on from the PGA Tour. He is currently competing under LIV Golf and might have a few more years in him before retirement calls.
