Danica Patrick is a woman known for making history and shattering records in the professional motorsports arena.

Beloit, Wisconsin native, born on March 25, 1982, and stemming from driving go-karts at the young age of ten, this trailblazing racecar driver turned businesswoman all but has a storybook comeback for the ages.

Early Racing Career

Danica was racing by age 10 when her parents purchased her a go-kart.

Her drive and achievements earned her countless regional and national go-kart championships as a youth, and by 16 she had made the bold move from the Midwest to the European road racing environment.

The foundation was laid in her formative years for what would become a historic and trailblazing career in motorsport.

Smashing Records and Making History

Danica garnered headlines in 2005 by leading 19 laps and finishing fourth in her first Indianapolis 500, the highest finish by a woman in the 88-year history of the race. Her trailblazing was only beginning.

In 2008, she repeated the feat in the IndyCar Series, when she won the Indy Japan 300 race, becoming the first woman to win a major league open-wheel race in North America.
