Peril in Philadelphia: When will Joel Embiid return from injury?

The 2024-2025 season is nothing short of terrible for the Philadelphia 76ers. This squad was supposed to be loaded with talent and led by a Most Valuable Player. Expectations were for them to at least reach the Eastern Conference Finals. However, everything started to go south when the injury bug bit a lot of people in the squad. Joel Embiid? Well, his status might also be still up in the air.
Joel Embiid suffered a sinus fracture which had him sidelined for nearly two weeks now. The 76ers big man suffered this injury during their clash against the Indiana Pacers. While he put up huge numbers to help his squad, it came at a cost of him not being able to play up until Christmas day.
But, there was some positive news which arrived after his re-evaluation. Embiid might be able to play when the 76ers face the San Antonio Spurs. The former MVP would then get to clash against a new-age rival in Victor Wembanyama. The last time that they saw each other? Well, it did not go well for the Alien. He put up 70 points while knocking down 24 out of his 41 shots from the field. More than that, Embiid also grabbed 18 insane rebounds.
As of the moment, a lot of excitement runs in the Philadelphia air. Many 76ers fans may have wished for this as their Christmas wish which is why it became true. After all, they have not even cracked 10 wins yet and are ranked 12th in the Eastern Conference standings. Embiid's return could signal a turning point for this season.
