The Chicago Bulls star may have 6 NBA championships to his name, but he has 7 children he’s incredibly proud of. His family is his greatest treasure, and that’s something that he got from his father, Preston Pippen, who passed away in 1990.
“When I lost my father, it really made me want to be like a father and be like my father. I realized I had to become a more responsible person, and I also realized I could become as good as I wanted to in this game if I put forth the effort," said Scottie to The Chicago Tribune. Now, meet his children.
Scottie Pippen’s Children
Antron Pippen
Scottie welcomed his first son, Antron, on December 29, 1987, together with his ex, Karen McCollum. Antron followed his father’s footsteps, joining the South Georgia Technical College’s basketball team. He also played for Texas A&M International and then the World Basketball Association in 2013.
Antron is often compared to his father, but he thinks it’s all inevitable. He shared: "I'm used to the expectations. When I was younger, it bothered me. I was trying to prove to people that I could play. I'm very proud of my father. But I can only be myself."
In 2021, at the age of 33, Antron passed away due to chronic asthma. Scottie shared that he believes Antron would have attained his dreams in the NBA if it wasn’t for his illness. The older Pippen also shared that he is still in his grieving process.
“I still have my moments of ups and downs, but I'm good," he said. "I will continue to gain strength because today there is none. But I've managed, and I'll continue to heal."
Taylor Pippen
Scottie and his ex, Sonya Roby, welcomed their daughter Taylor on July 20, 1994. Initially, Scottie denied Taylor to be his, but the DNA test proved otherwise. He provided financial support, but Roby had full custody of Taylor through her childhood.
Taylor got athleticism from her father, as she played volleyball in high school, college, and even professional volleyball in Spain for one season in 2016.
In an interview with El Mundo in 2016, Taylor shared that she doesn’t have a father-daughter relationship with Scottie. She said that her father never wanted to meet her and decided it would stay like that.
"I was born and raised near Chicago, you can imagine how many questions I have been asked about my father. I know how much my last name weighs, I know that people expect a lot from me, but, after all these years, I have learned that Pippen is just that, a last name," Taylor said.
Tyler Pippen
Taylor was born with a twin, Tyler. Unfortunately, Tyler passed away shortly after birth on July 20, 1994. Scottie has remained silent about the loss.
Sierra Pippen
Sierra was born on February 17, 1995, to Scottie and ex-girlfriend Yvette Deleone. Scottie initially also denied paternity, but later on proven in court due to the paternity lawsuit that Deleone filed.
Scottie was in charge of child support, high school and college expenses, insurance, medical expenses, and daycare. Deleone’s lawyer shared that Scottie loves the child and is present in her life.
Sierra graduated from the University of Iowa, but has kept a low profile. She was evidently close to her brother, Antron. When Antron passed away in April 2021, Sierra posted on Instagram to honor their close relationship. The post is now deleted.
Scotty Pippen Jr.
Scottie and his ex-wife Larsa welcomed Scotty Jr. on November 10, 2000. At an early age, Scotty was already following his father’s footsteps and showcasing his basketball talents. He played at Sierra Canyon High School, then at Vanderbilt University in college.
Scotty Jr. declared for the 2022 NBA Draft but went unselected. He signed a two-way contract with the Los Angeles Lakers on July 2022, spending time with their G-League affiliate, the South Bay Lakers. Scotty Jr. also joined the 2022 NBA Summer League under the Los Angeles Lakers.
He rejoined the South Bay Lakers in 2023. However, in January 2024, Scotty Jr. signed with the Memphis Grizzlies on a two-way contract. His contract was converted to four years on October 15, 2024.
Scottie has been openly and publicly happy for his son and the achievements Scotty Jr. has accomplished.
Preston Pippen
Scottie and Larsa’s second child, Preston, was born on August 26, 2002. They named him Preston to honor Scottie’s late father. Preston also played basketball for the Sierra Canyon High School.
Preston has a close buddy-buddy relationship with Shareef and Shaqir O’Neal, as well as Bronny James. He lives a very private life after high school.
Justin Pippen
Scottie and Larsa’s third child was Justin Pippen, born on July 11, 2005. Justin also played basketball, while also trying to succeed in modeling. In 2016, Justin appeared in the True Faces of the World campaign together with his sister, Sophia.
Justin has a close relationship with Scottie. In 2019, Justin shared a few photos of them for his Father’s Day celebration post on Instagram.
Justin has committed to play D1 basketball at the University of Michigan in 2024.
Sophia Pippen
Sophia Pippen is Scottie and Larsa’s only daughter. The youngest was born on December 26, 2008.
Alongside her schooling, Sophia has made a few notable achievements in her life already. She modeled, appeared on Dancing With The Stars: Juniors 2018, and has a huge social media presence.
She has 161K followers on TikTok and 229K followers on Instagram. She has posted his father a lot on her socials as well, showcasing a close father-daughter relationship between them.
